Woonsocket is Our Hometown
Right below the Massachusetts state line is Woonsocket, the sixth largest city in the state of Rhode Island. During the 17th century, three Native American tribes, Nipmucs, Wampanoags and Narragansetts settled on the land. Then, in 1661 Roger Williams purchased the land and referred to modern day Woonsocket as "Niswosakit". Today, Woonsocket is home to the corporate headquarters of CVS Health, Landmark Medical Center, St. John the Baptist Union, the Museum of Work and Culture and the American-French Genealogical Society.
